Keithan, a four year Varsity player and letter winner for the Wolves was the first player to capture four consecutive State Singles Championships for the Wolves. He is only the second boys' player in Montana to achieve this goal. Roger Mergerth of Missoula Sentinel also accomplished this feat in 1951-54. Keithan finished his high school tennis career with a 107-2 win/loss record. He led his teams to a 2nd place State finish in 2001 and Team Championships in 2002, 2003 and 2004. He was also selected as the 2004 National High School Athlete of the year in Boys' Tennis. Keithan was a team Captain in his Sophomore, Junior and Senior seasons. He went on to play Division One Tennis at Eastern Washington University for two years and transfered to NAIA Frontier Conference University of Great Falls where he played basketball for the Argos for three years. He began his coaching career on the Argos' Mens Basketball coaching staff and eventually ended up coaching for the Portland State Lady Vikings basketball program where he is Associate Head Coach next to his wife, Chelsey, the head coach. Keithan also worked time to time as a volunteer coach for the Wolves Tennis teams. The CBHS tennis coaching staff say, "Thank You Keithan!" and Welcome him into the Wolves' Tennis Wall of FAME! |
